Port$200

"The 2021 Graham’s The Stone Terraces Vintage Port is a rare micro-terroir wine produced from just three hectares of hand-built stone terraces at Quinta dos Malvedos. This fifth-ever release features incredibly fresh aromas of blackberry and kirsch alongside a distinctive hallmark note of tropical mango. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet refined, balancing polished tannins with taut acidity and flavors of black fruit, strawberry, and dark chocolate. Crafted from a field blend dominated by mature Touriga Nacional, this elegant port is approachable now but possesses the structure to age beautifully for several decades."

THE FULL TASTING NOTE

Nose

Remarkably fresh blackberry and kirsch with the house's hallmark tropical mango flicker — unmistakably modern vintage Port.

Palate

Concentrated yet refined; polished tannins and taut acidity carry black fruit, strawberry, and dark chocolate with unusual precision for the category.

Finish

Sweet but structured, mango and dark fruit resolving into fine spice.

What we love

  • A rare micro-terroir Port — just three hectares of hand-built stone terraces, fifth release ever
  • The freshness and precision make it approachable decades before classic vintage Ports
  • At $200, collector-grade rarity below trophy-Cabernet prices

What to know

  • Vintage Port is a commitment: once open, plan on sharing or several evenings
  • The sweetness places it after dinner — it won't sub for a table red

An unconventional pairing of ideas: like the Masseto, this is a single-plot terroir statement from an iconic house — but the Port delivers its decades-long cellar journey at well under half the price. Read that review →
