Our Story & Philosophy

About Wineros

Our Mission

At Wineros, we believe that discovering great wine shouldn't require navigating pretension or endless shelves of corporate blends. Our mission is to democratize serious wine expertise, offering clear, unpretentious weekly wine recommendations that bridge the gap between historic winemaking heritage and the modern everyday table.

We cut through the industry fluff, scores, and marketing terminology to deliver actionable tasting guidelines and cellar-worthy insights, helping wine lovers cultivate their palates with confidence.

Who We Are

Wineros publishes under a masthead rather than a byline. Reviews are attributed to the Wineros tasting panel and to Wineros as an organisation — we would rather name a process we can stand behind than a person we would have to invent.

What that means for you is that no score here rests on a claimed credential. It rests on a published method: blind tasting, a fixed 100-point rubric, a second-day confirmation before anything goes live, and no payment accepted from any producer. You can read the whole thing on our methodology page and hold us to it.

How We Select Wines

Our editorial code is simple: we taste every single bottle we recommend, blind.

Every weekly selection is run through a rigorous evaluation panel. We grade wines based on their sensory typicity, balance, structure, food-pairing versatility, and overall value.

Critically, we have a strict no-pay-for-play policy. We do not accept sponsorship, under-the-table cuts, or promotional compensation from wineries or distributors to feature specific bottles. If a wine earns our weekly recommendation, it did so strictly on its merits inside the glass.

Affiliate Transparency

To keep our platform independent and ad-light, we fund our operation through affiliate partnerships. When you purchase wines through our trusted retail partner links, we may receive a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you.

This model ensures we remain answerable only to you—our readers—rather than wine industry advertising departments. For a detailed breakdown of how we manage these relationships, please visit our complete Affiliate Disclosure.

Drink Responsibly

Wine is meant to enhance life's celebratory moments, foster connection, and celebrate regional agriculture. We strictly require all visitors to be of legal drinking age in their respective countries (21+ in the United States) to participate in our courses or purchase recommended bottles.

We strongly advocate for moderation and mindful, responsible drinking. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol abuse or dependency, please find confidential, compassionate support from SAMHSA's National Helpline or call 1-800-662-4357. Help is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
